Tradition, that connects
Stainz in the Schilcher (wine) region can look back on a long past rich in tradition. The first Stone Age settlements were noted already around 5,000 BC, and Stainz was first mentioned in a document 1177 under the name “Stawiz”.
The typical Schilcher wine is pressed from the regional Wildbacher grape and belongs to the oldest types of wine in middle Europe. Enjoy a glass of Schilcher wine with delicious regional dishes or the incomparable Schilcher must with chestnuts.
